Education

I graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelors of Arts in Integrative Physiology in 2017. I have since continued on into Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) education programs starting in 2018 and received my MAT Specialist Certification (level1) and opened my Business in early 2019. Over the years I have sought out more continuing education to further refine my skillset and better help my clients. I have since received my MAT Masters Specialist Certificate (level 2) as well as my MAT RX Full Body Certification (level 3) . Outside of MAT I was a certified personal trainer for six years (2017 to 2023) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

My story

While at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I experienced a severe ski injury, which ultimately led to a host of chronic pain located in my elbows, shoulders, neck, lower back, and feet. Looking to recover, I went from specialist to specialist trying to resolve this issue. From PT and Chiropractic to Massage and Dry Needling, everyone kept coming back with the same response “you’re really tight.” Despite their efforts, my symptoms never made huge improvements and my day to day life was still significantly impaired. This was all until I found a Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist (MAT). MAT was able to relieve me of pain and explain how all of my symptoms were related to muscle weakness and compensation that resulted from the trauma of my ski accident. MAT was able to fully resolve my symptoms and allow me to return my pain-free, active lifestyle. From that moment, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in MAT in order to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of others.
